Upscale furnishings, historic fresco fragments and memorable views over Piazza Santa Croce when you awake each morning in this landmark Renaissance Palazzo, aptly named... Paradiso!

Location

Conveniently located in the heart of the historical center of Florence, in Piazza Santa Croce, the palazzo is a landmark Renaissance Palazzo, and one of the few left in the historic center of Florence with a dramatic frescoed facade.

During late May thru late June there is noise in the piazza related to the Calico Storico, historic soccer matches. Late May is bleacher set up, June is practices and matches. If you can catch any of the play-offs (dates not advised in advance) or the final on June 24th, you'll get a lifetime treat and the "best seat in the house" is here; when you rent this apartment, you can see from the office windows. We were astounded when we watched a game from this palazzo. For more information look up Calcio Storico on YouTube or Netflix Home Game series Episode 1.

Exterior

Conveniently located in the heart of the historical center of Florence, in Piazza Santa Croce, the palazzo is a landmark Renaissance Palazzo, and one of the few left in the historic center of Florence with a dramatic frescoed facade.

Many people passing through Piazza Santa Croce notice Giovanni di Ser Giovanni`s 1620 frescoes on the overhanging facade this handsome building, but few realize they can actually stay here. The 16th-century palazzo is owned by the gracious Contessa, who rents out truly spacious apartments to anyone who has ever dreamed of lying in bed near a roaring fire under a 17th-century frescoed ceiling or sipping tea in a living room surrounded by trompe d`oeil Roman ruins with a 16th-century wood ceiling above.

Interior

On the second floor (American designation) of the Palazzo, there are 25 steps up from main entrance or 28 steps up from main entrance.

Very spacious living/dining room with open plan kitchen has decorative original wood beam ceilings and windows overlooking the piazza. For quiet, a floor to ceiling glass wall can be closed to separate living room from the piazza windows where double glass doors open onto a balconette overlooking the piazza.

Fully equipped cooking area in the living/dining room.

The bedrooms feature fragments of colorful frescoes from the 1600s.

Use of the Palazzo private gym included.

Excellent stay in Florence

by Kim Doyle

We couldn\'t have been any happier with the apartment or the location. Clean, stylish and well appointed, it had everything we needed. Francesca met us and was welcoming and professional. My second time booking an apartment through Perfect and would definitely stay with them again.

That is wonderful. Thank you for returning. Please come again! The Italy Perfect Team

Very good Apartment, well furnished, very comfortable, excellent location. The Hosts were very good in communicating all information we needed the Restaurants suggested were very good. All in all we had a very good experience . Some suggestion: The Apt. could provide a few things like Coffee, Tea, some drinks, milk etc this would specially when people arrive late and are not able to go shopping. Would recommend to friends. [Thank you so much for your kind review. We will do a better job of offering a shopping service for late arrivals, too. Thank you for the suggestion. The Italy Perfect Team]

The update is excellent. The unit and staff were great. We had no issue with noise. The unit has both rooms enclosed and a glass panel window to further assist with those late night parties.we did not hear anyone. Our niece and husband sleep in front room on fold out and they had no trouble with noise( this seem to be a concern we read about before arriving.) The location is great, perfect with out the extreme crowds of the duomo. We would stay again. In a minute. Italyperfect was also very helpful and responsive to any needs, requests and upfront on all other fees we might entail. Italy tax fee, electric , gas and air conditioning was not included. It is reasonable if you don’t act like your in the Marriott and want to return to a cold room regardless of if your gone all day. All in all , excellent experience! [Thank you Diane, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]

S Croce Paradiso Review

My family and I rented three apartments in Palazzo Santa Crocei this summer in June and it was an amazing experience. We had stayed there before but with a larger group needed separate apartments. The balcony on Paradiso was amazing a bit loud at night but wonderful to hear the church bells and just people watch throughout the day. The apartment was a bit loud in general because you are so close to the piazza but how the furnishings were great and to stare at original frescoes on the wall while you went to sleep were just beautiful. Great location and beautiful apartments. So much better than staying at a hotel.

We stayed at the S Croce Paradiso in July of 2015 with our niece for a week. The apartment was absolutely beautiful and very authentic Italian. It was clean, spacious and had all of the things you need for a comfortable stay. It was nice that the small things were provided as well - like soap, paper towels etc. The location was spectacular - you could people watch from the balcony and it was very close to many restaurants as well as the busy Piazza della Signora and Ponte Vecchio. All was within easy walking distance. Lots of shops and leather stores all around you as well. I preferred this location as it was a bit quieter - especially in July. The second bedroom was not as quiet due to the wall not reaching the ceiling, but it was only if someone was really loud in the piazza. It was not a problem at all! Our favourite restaurant was La Buchetta Cafe around the corner on via dei benci, and La Giostra for a more fine dining experience (on Borgo Pinti). Italy Perfect were wonderful as well.....we will be using Italy Perfect for our London trip next year!! [Wow, thanks so much! You really enjoyed the experience! The Italy Perfect Team]

The location couldn't be better. Plenty of room for all five of us. Plus everyone had there own bath plus air conditioner in all rooms. Host were very accommodating and answered all questions. Only one flaw kitchen needed a few more items (soap for dishes and surfaces). Our six days couldn't have been better. [We are delighted your stay was so nice. The Italy Perfect team]

This apartment was well maintained and very comfortable. The owner and manager were both very friendly and helpful . They truly made us feel at home, and were wonderful to deal with. We rented this apartment for my husband, myself and our three university aged children and there was plenty of room. The street noise is rather loud at night but this is offset by the location which affords both a wonderful view and access to many shops and restaurants . I very much enjoyed my time in Florence and I would stay in this apartment again. A heartfelt thank-you to Cecile who made us feel very welcome in our temporary home! [Dear Ann Thank you so much for your kind review. We are delighted you and your family enjoyed the apartment, Florence and the service provided by the manager, Cecile. This particular apartment is low in the building and the layout does allow the sounds of people in the piazza (it isn't traffic) to enter the apartment. Other nice apartments in this same building are organized and insulated so the sounds in the piazza don’t reach sleepers. The Italy Perfect team]

S Croce Paradiso Review

The entire S Croce Square is wonderful. All of the restaurants are incredible! It is not possible to recommend one over another, each one has its own "specialness". Just the joy of walking, talking, sleeping in the Paradiso was our own personal "time-travel" location; we were there! We were there with Michaelangelo and Galileo as they rested in the S Croce Cathedral; we were there with the sights and sounds of the Renaissance all around. We walked the same streets, admired the same surrounding buildings. We were in awe of the fact that we had the opportunity to experience all of this history while staying in such a wonderful apartment. Lisa, we sincerely thank you for the opportunity to experience the beauty of the S Croce Paradiso!

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Paradiso apartment. It was just as promised, clean, comfortable and very well located. Loved the area, so much to see and do. Thank you for everything! We would stay in this apartment again and have already recommended to our friends who will be in Florence next summer.

Just wanted to write you a quick note, to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip to Italy and especially our stay in Palazzo Santa Croce. The Paradiso apartment was perfectly located and the setup was exactly what we needed.  It was truly like coming home at the end of the day. Our only complaint was the noise from the piazza or from the restaurant next door. However, the enjoyment we got from sitting at the door [sort of shallow balcony] looking out at the piazza for the on-going activity was worth it. Our final evening, for our cooking demonstration, was thoroughly enjoyable. We wish we’d had it at the beginning of the trip, because the other guests had so much advice to share on things to do and see in the area.  Oh, well, there is always next time…. Thanks sincerely, for your assistance.

Oh my gosh, the trip was the most beautiful experience we could have asked for. Wonderful!!! Thank you for your services! I would go back tonight if I had the chance. The Medici Apartment in Florence is simply the most beautiful apartment in the world. Perfect for our big group. Stately and palatial, with every accommodation we could want. Huge windows open onto the square where excitement and life take place before your eyes. Felt like living in a Renaissance Palace!!! Renee, who manages the Pallazzo, was so wonderful and kind and warm. We most enjoyed the sights, the activity on the Piazza, the local cafes in the Ambrogio (sp?) neighborhood, the art, the palatial, restful apartment. The art, the art, the art! Noise was an issue but we got a system down of using the air conditioners and fans at night to drown out the partying on the square. It turned out fine and we got used to the system of windows closed and white noise on. No other drawbacks or problems at all - everything was truly perfect. The noise wouldn't have bothered us if we didn't have to be up in the AM with the kids, if we could have slept late like the locals it would have been fine. Perfect, the perfect location - walked everywhere and best gellati in the world was only two blocks away. the Medici Apartment is right in the middle of things - the ONLY place to stay in Florence is what we all decided. The Ambrogio neighborhood was perfect, very authentic and no tourists, The Standa market was perfect - we went there daily to get food to cook in our apartment every night. We ate out only once and enjoyed great dinners around the huge dining room table. The leather school behind Santa Croce was wonderful! Tips: Try to live like a local, get off the beaten path, book museum tickets ahead of time from home to avoid lines. Your service was wonderful and thorough and helpful in every way. Seriously.

We rented two apartments in Palazzo Santa Croce from July 2nd to the 16th and spent 6 weeks in Italy overall. It was a marvelous trip and we have returned highly recommending staying in apartments to our friends. We loved and would certainly return to apartments in Florence, particularly Miravista which was light and lovely, and had the wonderful terrace.
