Location

Conveniently located in the heart of the historical center of Florence, in Piazza Santa Croce, the palazzo is a landmark Renaissance Palazzo, and one of the few left in the historic center of Florence with a dramatic frescoed facade.

During late May thru late June there is noise in the piazza related to the Calico Storico, historic soccer matches. Late May is bleacher set up, June is practices and matches. If you can catch any of the play-offs (dates not advised in advance) or the final on June 24th, you'll get a lifetime treat and the "best seat in the house". We were astounded when we watched a game from this palazzo. For more information look up Calcio Storico on YouTube or Netflix Home Game series Episole 1.

Exterior

Many people passing through Piazza Santa Croce notice Giovanni di Ser Giovanni`s 1620 frescoes on the overhanging façade this handsome building, but few realize they can actually stay here. The 16th-century palazzo is owned by the gracious Contessa who rents out truly spacious apartments to anyone who has ever dreamed of lying in bed near a roaring fire under a 17th-century frescoed ceiling or sipping tea in a living room surrounded by trompe d`oeil Roman ruins with a 16th-century wood ceiling above.

Interior

On the fourth floor (American designation) with elevator up 3 steps from main entrance.

Elegant living/dining room with pull-out sofa bed for two and French door leading to terrace. Sunny terrace with southern exposure, overlooking the large inner courtyard and rooftops.

Fully equipped kitchen.

Use of the Palazzo private small gym included.

FABULOUS!

by Kimberly Lewis

The Belvedere apartment was absolutely FABULOUS! The location being right in the middle of the Palazzo Santa Croce, was incredible. Our host made our check in process so pleasant and he spent time going over everything with us. Leo was also so kind to answer any questions we had during our stay. The apartment was roomy, clean, kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable, lots of storage space. Our most favorite part was the outdoor Terrace. We spent our morning's enjoying coffee and in the evenings a glass of wine out on the Terrace. There is a taxi stand right outside the apartment and taxi's were easy to get if needed. However, the location was right in the heart of everything which made seeing everything we wanted to see and do just perfect, we were able to walk everywhere and only needed a taxi to take us to the train station. After a full day exploring Florence we looked forward to coming back to the apartment. It was our home away from home. We highly recommend staying at the Belvedere and we will for sure be back! Thank you Italy Perfect for all your support in booking this apartment and also during our stay! We will only book through Italy Perfect! Just FABULOUS!!!

Wonderful Stay!

by Aaron Johnson

We had looked so forward to staying at the Belvedere apartment for so long, having been delayed by the pandemic and we were not disappointed. Our host, was very friendly and most helpful throughout our stay. The apartment is very quiet and well appointed. We felt completely safe and the elevator was great to have too. The location is perfect and we looked forward to coming “home” to our Belvedere apartment during our 2 week stay. We have stayed in another Italy Perfect apartment before and we enjoyed this apartment very much. Thanks to Pat and the team for everything. We will be back!

The Belvedere apartment in Florence far exceeded our expectations. The apartment was very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Despite being right on the Palazzo Santa Croce, with all of its bustle, the apartment was extremely quiet. The location was great and we took full advantage of your two recommendations, the wonderful little restaurant right next door and the great pastry shop across the Palazzo. It was a perfect location for exploring Florence. The four of us are in our late 70's/early 80's and this apartment was perfect for our needs. We loved it. [We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay! We look forward to working with you again! The Italy Perfect Team]

The Belvidere on Piazza Santa Croce was the perfect location for walking to all the sites of Florence. Being an apartment that was not facing the Piazza provided a quieter stay, and a lovely deck to enjoy wine, cheese and bread. Accomodations were excellent, and the facilities were very good. All in all, a great 4 weeks in Italy! Italy Perfect was a great find. [Thank you so much for your kind review.]

The accommodations were very comfortable in every way. We appreciated the additional roll-away bed. All 6 of us were very comfortable with the sleeping arrangements. The kitchen was very well-stocked. We appreciated the American coffee maker very much! The location was terrific - close to everything. An easy walk to the main sites, Arno River, etc.We found it impossible to get a taxi in Florence (!!)We found the Hop On, Hop Off bus useful because it stopped nearby. It would be nice to include a map of the bus routes in the apartment since it seems that a lot of them go close to the apartment. No real restaurant recommendations. There was a nice list in the apartment and all of our meals were wonderful. We appreciate all the help and support given to us by Italy Perfect! [Thank you Catherine! Please come again. Our time staying at Santa Croce Belvedere was amazing. We had a large family group so having two apartments on the same floor was incredibly useful. We felt safe in the location and the apartment was well furnished and when you envision italian homes this was exactly what we thought. This was our second time staying at here and we would do so again in a heartbeat.

This charming apartment was perfect for our family of four! Centrally located off Piazza Santa Croce, we walked everywhere and returned at the end of each day to our "home away from home". Good restaurants close by (Boccadama and Osteria de Benci) and the Santa Croce Church is truly impressive with its tombs and frescoes. We would not hesitate to return to this apartment and highly recommend Italy Perfect. Thanks to Pat and Lisa for providing such a warm and welcoming accommodation and for being such a great resource of information!

The central location of Palazzo Santa Croce can't be beat! And the history surrounding the building and the frescoes is so interesting! We originally booked Santa Croce Paradiso but, since my husband is a very light sleeper, found that the revelers in the Piazza were too boisterous for us to sleep well. We approached the managers - as well as copying Pat on our email - and they could NOT have been more lovely or helpful in providing us with an alternative. We moved to the Belvedere and were thrilled with it! It doesn't look over the Piazza, which was just fine with us, but it has a southerly facing terrace and was extremely quiet. Not to mention darling! Love the colors. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the apartment has everything one needs for a lovely holiday. It was clean and well appointed. And the appliances all worked well. It's clear the owners manage this building with great care. The restaurant directly downstairs, Boccadama, is pretty good and the workers are extremely pleasant. One night we ordered pizza from them and they let us take the dishes up to our terrace so we could dine privately - we just had to return everything the next day! Also, Boutique Nadine was a great little find. And Osteria dei Benci is fantastic at lunch. I would definitley recommend Italy Perfect! Pat was a complete joy to work with! [Thank you so much, Jann. On the advice of two friends who rented an apartment in Firenze through Italy Perfect twice. For four weeks I stayed in the Palazzo Santa Croce in Firenze in a beautiful apartment on the third floor with a charming sitting room, large southern exposed terrace, small but superb kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The owners of the Palazzo had left nothing to chance; everything was perfect, nothing was missing. It was a joy to return to such lovely surroundings every day. Danish and Scottish friends came to stay, and whether we ate out or in, all was most enjoyable. The location was right on Piazza Santa Croce, within walking distance of everything.I am already planning for my next Italian visit through Italy Perfect. When we rented the apartment in Florence we had no idea just how much it would enhance our stay. Each day we returned to our HOME with appetizers in hand. Then we would sit on our private terrace, enjoying wonderful italian cheeses and wine while discussing our day. We were traveling with 2 twenty year olds and had we all returned to separate hotel rooms our experience would not have been shared or enjoyed nearly as much. We will travel this way from now on. [Thank you so much, Mary. Your appetizers on the terrace sound delicious. Nice to enjoy with your 20 year olds rather than be separated. Please come again! The Italy Perfect Team]

The location couldn't be better. Plenty of room for all five of us. Plus everyone had there own bath plus air conditioner in all rooms. Host were very accommodating and answered all questions. Only one flaw kitchen needed a few more items (soap for dishes and surfaces). Our six days couldn't have been better. [We are delighted your stay was so nice. The Italy Perfect team]

Our apartment was very comfortable, quiet, clean, and well equipped. It was located in a historic palazzo turned into apartments on the Piazza Santa Croce. Our interests were in history, art, and architecture so the location was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere and even manage one of our party in a wheelchair. There is a "super" market a few blocks away for anything from staples to fine wine. We ate well everyday in a restaurant near our morning excursions, so all over the historic area. Food was great everywhere. Our travel companions are world-class consumers of gelato and give world-class honors to the small gelateria around the corner, facing the convent associated with Santa Croce. The folks at Italy Perfect were very helpful. And, yes, I would certainly seek them out again and recommend them to friends.

Oh my gosh, the trip was the most beautiful experience we could have asked for. Wonderful!!! Thank you for your services! I would go back tonight if I had the chance. The Medici Apartment in Florence is simply the most beautiful apartment in the world. Perfect for our big group. Stately and palatial, with every accommodation we could want. Huge windows open onto the square where excitement and life take place before your eyes. Felt like living in a Renaissance Palace!!! Renee, who manages the Pallazzo, was so wonderful and kind and warm. We most enjoyed the sights, the activity on the Piazza, the local cafes in the Ambrogio (sp?) neighborhood, the art, the palatial, restful apartment. The art, the art, the art! Noise was an issue but we got a system down of using the air conditioners and fans at night to drown out the partying on the square. It turned out fine and we got used to the system of windows closed and white noise on. No other drawbacks or problems at all - everything was truly perfect. The noise wouldn't have bothered us if we didn't have to be up in the AM with the kids, if we could have slept late like the locals it would have been fine. perfect, the perfect location - walked everywhere and best gellati in the world was only two blocks away. the Medici Apartment is right in the middle of things - the ONLY place to stay in Florence is what we all decided. The Ambrogio neighborhood was perfect, very authentic and no tourists, The Standa market was perfect - we went there daily to get food to cook in our apartment every night. We ate out only once and enjoyed great dinners around the huge dining room table. The leather school behind Santa Croce was wonderful! Tips: Try to live like a local, get off the beaten path, book museum tickets ahead of time from home to avoid lines. Your service was wonderful and thorough and helpful in every way. Seriously.

We rented two apartments in Palazzo Santa Croce from July 2nd to the 16th and spent 6 weeks in Italy overall. It was a marvelous trip and we have returned highly recommending staying in apartments to our friends. We loved and would certainly return to apartments in Florence, particularly Miravista which was light and lovely, and had the wonderful terrace.
