The location is really wonderful and pretty easy walking to just about everything. It's also an evocative old building - beautiful and unique. There are the normal challenges of such a thing like variable water pressure and no screens on windows, but those are small things to manage for such a lovely, historical place to stay. The bed was comfortable, the two bathrooms were a plus, and we found the kitchen well stocked for our needs with a coffee maker, kettle and microwave. Access to a washing machine was much appreciated. We were certainly grateful the elevator was working while we were there and it's quite fun to operate. The hosts are charming and the check in process is very thorough as they make sure you understand how everything operates and how all costs are considered. They were also very helpful with the map and understanding where we were located in the city and offered excellent suggestions for where to eat or get take away. There's a supermarket a short walk away and quality restaurants all around with a wonderful bakery practically next door. They even helped arrange for a taxi for us upon departure!

I would stay again!

Our return to the Michaela this year was like coming home. The location is ideal for all we wanted to do and see and the apartment is spacious, well appointed, comfortable, and lovely. Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality!

Perfect location!!! Loved having 2 bathrooms! Clean and very safe. Check in was VERY thorough which was good but pretty lengthy when you're tired from travel. Definitely would stay here next time!

Apartment is nice. It's in the back, so it's quiet. Secure location. Washing machine in hallway, no dryer. Bedroom, living room, eat in kitchen and two full bathrooms.

This charming and spacious apartment is perfectly located to explore Florence. As first time visitors it couldn't have been better for us, and the furnishings and rooms were very lovely and comfortable. Everything we wanted was nearby and our hosts were welcoming and informative hosts. The best of Florence is just outside the Michaela's door, and we felt a bit like residents instead of visitors!

You will have the owner's direct attention. They are sweet, caring, and helpful Unlike all the other places I have stayed in Florence everything is in the kitchen!

We are just back from an eight-night stay in the heart of Florence, mere steps away from the Santa Maria Novella square.Our hosts were wonderful hosts, turning over a spotless and charming apartment after an introduction that included restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. The apartment itself was bright, well furnished, and extremely comfortable - it quickly became like home. It’s right in the heart of the action, in a very safe and secure location and building. This apartment and these hosts earned and deserve our highest recommendation.

Perfectly located in the historic district of Florence, Michaela was quiet, had a comfortable bed, 2 baths and a kitchenette. Our hosts were terrific and gave us suggestions for restaurants. The building was secure. We were able to control the temperature in the apartment and use the washing machine and drying rack. We will book this place again, or the larger Prisco apartment on the same floor, which has a full kitchen.

The apartment is clean, spacious, and well-appointed in an excellent location. The owners were friendly and made sure that the apartment was ready at the time of our arrival. We found excellent restaurants on our street (Via Della Spade) and we walked everywhere in Florence (Duomo, Uffizi, Oltrarno, Piazzale Michelangelo, Santa Croce, Piazza Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, etc). It's an easy walk, even with luggage, from the train station. We like this apartment so much we have stayed in it twice and will stay here again during out next visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Michaela apartment. The apartment was clean and spacious, having everything we needed. 0ur hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Loved the aroma of the bakery nearby wafting in through the windows in the early morning hours. Air conditioning was not always working but the cross breeze from the windows allowed for sleeping. Close to many attractions in a very vibrant and beautiful city. We walked to most of the places we wished to see. Good restaurants nearby and great Gelato shops on the other side of the river near Ponte Vecchio bridge. The apartment is safe and secure with a lift small and quaint but totally reliable. Our wine tour to the Tuscany countryside was a highlight and to escape the busy city for one day was glorious and not to be missed. I would definitely recommend it to travellers who want to be centrally located in a walking city! Many thanks to our hosts and the Italy Perfect team.

Our hosts were wonderful and we had a great stay in their apartment! The location was perfect, very central and a 10 minute walk away from the Duomo. They were present at check in and check out and provided lots of helpful information that helped us feel right at home!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Well appointed room. Nice neighborhood. Great hosts. EVERYTHING we needed and wanted to see was within walking distance. The Florence Duomo, Arts Accademia, Michaelangelo gardens, so much more. Even the train station was a short walk.

Our stay at Michaela Apartment through Italy Perfect was so welcoming and comfortable from check in to checkout. The apartment is so lovely, the neighborhood is fantastic and the hosts treated us like old friends. We had stayed in four other VRBOs during our month traveling through Italy but without question this was the winner!!!

What a wonderful experience!!! The location was amazing, the apt was adorable, we felt like we were being invited into Nonna's house. Having two bathrooms was a dream and made it so easy for two girls. It felt safe and secure and best part it was literally 5mins away from the train station which made our travels effortless. I would book this place again and again. Definitely recommend.

Location, location, location! All reviews for the Michaela apt. mention this. It is in the very heart of Florence, walking distance to all major attractions and high end shopping. Proximity to the train station makes getting to Venice, Rome, Pisa, and the hill towns, very doable day trips. A 1.5 Euro bus ticket gets you up to Fiesole or Settignano to the idyllic countryside high above Florence. We enjoyed the Michaela apt. for three weeks. But as seasoned travellers and having visited Florence several times before, we did find the city extremely busy….much busier than ever before. So be forewarned, especially if this is your first visit. Streets are narrow, cobble stoned and clogged with people, cars, scooters, bicycles and suitcases Comfortable, sensible shoes are a must..no heels! The hosts as delightful and helpful as everyone says. They are always there at a moment’s notice. During our visit, they upgraded the internet so we had great connectivity. English TV though was limited to a single news channel. The apt is just as it appears in the photos and we enjoyed asking Miki about her childhood when the three apts. were her family home. Delightful baking smells waft up each morning from the bakery downstairs tempting you down for breakfast goodies or paninis. Best to keep things simple re cooking as the stove is only two burners. However, PAM grocery store is very close and you can easily pick up groceries and wine. No shortage of great restaurants . Osteria Bella Donna is close and has a working wine door, popular with tourists. The old fashioned cage elevator works fine if all tenants respect the guidelines. Our host explains that process very clearly. However, you might have to climb a lot of stairs should it occasionally be out of use . We had a visitor from Rome who remarked on our unusually great water pressure. Bathroom off the kitchen is modern and has a spacious shower. Hide a bed is firm and comfortable.

The owners gave us a warm greeting to this spacious and clean apartment within easy walking distance of the train station and important sites, including the Duomo, the Bargello, the Uffizi, the Academia, the Ponte Vecchio, and the Pitti Palace and high-quality restaurants and shopping. When we return to Florence we will choose to stay in Michaela again.

We enjoyed the hospitality at Michaela. What wonderful hosts! Not only did they explain the apartment, they pointed out places on a city map to see during our visit. The location is close to the SMN train station, bakery, grocery, museums, dining options and shopping. The clean and well-furnished interior made for a great stay. Michaela offers a quiet location. The kitchenette was fine for breakfasts. If you're planning on cooking substantial meals, you might consider the full kitchen in Prisco, which is next door.

Our hosts were wonderful. The flat was spotless. The bed and sofa bed are comfortable. There is AC in each room.

This is a beautiful, well maintained apartment that is close to all the chief sites in Florence but on a reasonably quiet and very pleasant street in the heart of town. The appliances have been updated and everything works. I would highly recommend the apartment to my friends and family. The owners are very much available if ever needed and spent a considerable amount of time in explaining the various details that made our stay enjoyable and the shops and amenities in the neighborhood. The owners could not have been more accommodating. For example, they endeavored to arrange a cab for us while we were checking out but even with multiple calls, no cabs were available. Rather than allow us to miss our train, they each grabbed our luggage and walked us to the train station and even stayed when we got there to show us the correct track to get on.

From the moment we opened the front door to the apartment Michaela, we knew we weren't in California anymore! It oozes the European feel we wanted and the location was ideal! Two bathrooms were a treat as was the large bedroom and kitchen! A lovely respite after a busy day exploring an amazing city. I would recommend having some basics like plastic wrap, sugar and more garbage bags. Late at night and early in the morning the adjoining bakery could be quite noisy. Closing the windows helped but I think in warmer months this could be a problem. Despite those suggestions we loved our 6 days there and have already recommended it to friends! Favorite restaurant? Trattoria Casalinga in the Oltrarno but close by the apartment. Great value and a deliciously authentic experience!

Perfect location and great apartment, but what makes it even more spectacular are the hosts. We stayed in the apartment from Dec 28 until Jan 1. Florence was filled with tourists and new year's eve partyers. Our hosts, Miki and Franco, tried to unsuccessfully reserve a cab the night before for our early January 1st airport departure due to all of the partyers still filling the streets. Instead - they suggested we get up early and call. Time was winding down, it was 5 am and we were desperate to get ot the airport. As a last resort, we called Franco. Without a fuss he picked us up and drove us to the airport. Both Miki and Franco took excellent care of us and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Florence. We highly recommend the Michaela apartment for your stay in Florence. Located in the center of an elegant shopping district, yet a few blocks from the historic Duomo & surrounded by local shops, restaurants & markets .... What could be better? Our hosts greeted us warmly & oriented us to everything about the apartment and the neighborhood. The apartment has everything you might need for a lovely stay.

We stayed in the MIchaela apartment for 8 nights in September, 2015. The location is perfect to visit all major sites, and is a short walk (under 15 minutes) to the Duomo, the Ufizzi, the Bargello, Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, San Lorenzo neighbourhood and church. It is about five minutes from Santa Maria Novella and Piazza della Republicca. The location is great, but that also means that one finds oneself in the heart of the most touristy part of historic Florence. On balance, the value, amazing apartment, and proximity to all sites, as well as the truly lovely owners, would have us rent it again, but it definitely bothered me (me much more so than my partner). The apartment itself is very large by European standards, with a large bedroom, brand new bed (we were the first to sleep on it), sitting room, and dining area. There were many family photos and other items that made the apartment feel like we were truly staying in someone's home, and it was lovely.The apartment was spotless and the owners extremely helpful and friendly. The washing machine was efficient and the drying racks were helpful. There is a computer in a central area shared by the three vacation apartments that once formed part of one large apartment. The only thing that would have been easier would have been some instructions on how to use an Italian computer keyboard and make the printer work -- it took some figuring out but eventually I got everything to work to print train tickets. A person not really used to computers would not have been able to figure it out. My luggage was lost and the owners dealt with the airport and arranged to be present for it to be delivered, which we found extremely gracious. This apartment was very spacious for two of us, and would easily accommodate two more people with lots of privacy as one of the two bathrooms in the apartment is essentially an ensuite and there is a door that shuts to the living room. The air conditioning worked very well, there were two drying racks and ample kitchen supplies. I strongly recommend taking the time early in the morning to visit the Mercato Centrale for foods, etc. They open at 7:00 close at 2:00, so we only went once, but if I were to go to Florence again I would definitely find a way to do that. The cost of food, selection and quality were superior to the other places nearby, although they were fine too. There is a great bakery just outside the front door to the apartment building which is not to be missed.

The Michaela was a wonderful apartment . Most important to us was its great location. We never took a taxi as we could comfortably walk to every museum, restaurant, gallery or store from the apartment. All our dealings with Italy Perfect were easy, clear and timely. I would definitely recommend this property!
