Sophisticated and elegant, the Da Vinci apartment has a terrace and views of beautiful Santa Croce Basilica. Super Florence location.  A full home, it has separate rooms for living room, study, dining room and kitchen as well as 3 bedrooms and baths.

Location

We named this apartment and its neighbors after great Italian scientists who are celebrated with monuments in the church of Santa Croce next door. The church, officially a basilica, is called the Pantheon (temple to the gods) of Italy commemorating many Italian creative geniuses from all disciplines with their graves and/or monuments. Navigating the monuments is just one of many ways to enjoy the beauties of Santa Croce.

Leonardo da Vinci [b:1452-d:1519] is considered the most talented and intelligent human to have lived. Science and invention were only a few of the subjects he mastered that include anatomy, astronomy, botany, cartography, painting and paleontology. He conceptualized flying machines, armored vehicles, solar power and calculators. Not to forget that he is one of the greatest painters of all time.

Exterior

A beautiful contrast to the wonderful renaissance architecture of Florence and the gothic style of the nearby basilica, the palazzo here is of Liberty style (called Art Nouveau in France) and dates from about 1900.

Interior

This desirable apartment is both spacious and elegantly furnished. The large living room is handsomely furnished with Italian leather. It is full of light from large windows overlooking Santa Croce. Adjoining is the office with a handsome antique roll-top desk. A full dining room complements the bright and very large kitchen.

On the main level find a half bath for guests and a large bedroom with en-suite bath.

One floor above, both bedrooms access the small terrace up a few steps. The views are fabulous from Santa Croce across the rooftops around to the iconic dome of the main cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore.

This is a gorgeous apartment, so nice we really didn't want to leave. And, as always, we love this location.

With companion apartments 20 people can be accommodated. The companion apartments are Barsanti, Fermi and Marconi.

Lovely For Our Family

by Lindsay

This apartment (Fermi) was lovely for our family of four. Plenty of space to relax and spread out. The kitchen was limited but more than enough for our needs. The option to rent additional apartments next door would be ideal for a large group or family. We also enjoyed the laundry amenity. The bathrooms were beautiful and spacious. We would definitely stay again - and hope to!

Wonderful Pied a Terre

by Troy

This apartment (Barsanti) is now a favorite for Florence. There is a small terrace with views, good air-conditioning, well-equipped kitchen and a perfect location. The management is very helpful. I would go back in an instant.

Perfect place to call home!

by Joanne Verkuilen

We are a family of four, but also had my brother and wife stay with us, so the size of this apartment was absolutely perfect. The comfort and decor was warm and inviting and had everything we needed. The bathrooms are luxurious with marble, great towels and cozy robes as well. The location is also perfect - walking distance to everything. We stayed four nights and it was a beautiful part of the vacation!
