This apartment just might have it all: spacious accommodations, stunning Duomo views, gorgeous décor, spacious accommodations and the perfect central location in the Santa Croce neighborhood of Florence.

Location

Welcome to the Santa Croce neighborhood in the center of Florence. It's one of the most historical areas of the city, but you won't need to wander far to find modern comforts like markets, restaurants, and the popular tourist destinations. Make sure to check out the traffic-free Piazza Santa Croce, which is home to regular soccer games (complete with medieval costumes!). The apartment is located on Via Verdi, a historic street with a mixture of medieval and mid-century modern architecture.

Exterior

This apartment is the best of both worlds: a modern style in an historic neighborhood. Designed by the famous mid-century modern architect Giovanni Michelucci in the 1960s, the apartment is located just a short walk away from the lively Piazza Santa Croce.

Interior

Lorenzo is truly a rare find in Florence: a four bedroom, four bathroom apartment with a panoramic view of the surrounding city. The mid-century modern design and the thoughtful detailing throughout are both luxurious and comfortable: original parquet floors, mosaic and stucco detailing in the bathrooms, soundproof windows offering stunning views of the Duomo, and even a private sauna!

The open living area is flooded with light and connects to the large, fully equipped kitchen with full-size refrigerator and six-burner stove. Each bedroom, replete with fabulous views, can sleep two guests and has its own bathroom, making this the perfect apartment for larger families or groups of friends traveling together.

Every bedroom and the living room has a terrace with stunning views of Florence.

The windows throughout are double glazed.

Perfect Apartment for our Family

by Mary Hoffman

We spent four nights at the Lorenzo in June. It was quite warm at that time so the air conditioning was wonderful. The apartment is beautifully decorated and immaculate. Our host was there to greet us and show how to work things. She also provided us with some welcoming snacks and food. We were traveling with our son, his wife, and two grandsons (8 and 10) so the Lorenzo was large enough to give everyone some space. The beds were very comfortable. There were very nice bathroom amenities. Everything seemed very well thought out to make it comfortable for guests. My grandsons enjoyed the candies that were left out "just for them". We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Our host also recommended some restaurants which was greatly appreciated. It was so nice to stay somewhere that was even nicer than anticipated. The entire family thought the Lorenzo was the best place we stayed during our entire trip. Thank you to our host and Italy Perfect!

Lorenzo Review

by Family Travelers
Our family of 5 had the most perfect stay at this property over the Christmas and New Year holidays. The owner clearly knows how to accommodate every need with organic bath soaps and shampoo, fluffy towels, bathrobes, a basketful of hairdryers, first aid kit, and a well outfitted kitchen for quick breakfasts or a night in. Art and history books are carefully laid out on the coffee table, little dishes of Italian candy are in each room, as well as subtly scented diffusers that do not overwhelm like air fresheners from back at home. There is absolutely no clutter. The penthouse is spotless, and is cleanest rental we’ve come across in all of our travels. We enjoyed having so much space for privacy and to come together to read and chat. Be sure to book the additional expense for the sauna. It was very convenient and easy to use after a long day sightseeing and walking. This is a professionally maintained rental property and the expertise shows from our communications, checking in and out, to the generous pantry basics on our arrival. We were greeted with a basket of dried fruit, Prosecco, pastries, and a fridge filled with eggs, milk, juice, butter, and prosciutto. It was so nice to have this all on hand for our first breakfast, slowly eating and watching Florence come to life through the windows. And because we enjoy the noise that comes with an urban center, we opened the window a bit to hear people walking by, Vespas zooming along, and shopkeepers beginning their day. No guidebook could have prepared us for the exceptional view of Florence’s skyline. The photos in the property listing are accurate, but to see the sunrise and sunset over the rooftops and church was an experience we will never forget. We were lucky to catch glimpses of the New Year’s Eve fireworks as well as an incredible New Year concert at Theater Verdi just across the street. Our stay was so easy, we didn’t have to make extra runs for supplies or worry about anything really, but just enjoy all that Florence offers.

Lorenzo Review

by John
This four bedroom, four and a half bathroom fully functional apartment has been recently upgraded and is beautifully and comfortably furnished. The location is central to everything - just a block from the Piazza di Santa Croce. It is an easy walk to many of the main attractions of Florence. There is a wonderful view of the rooftops of Florence as well as the Duomo from the living room in the apartment. We were traveling with 6 people including my 87 year old father-in-law. The elevator was therefore very useful as it is a fourth floor apartment. Also, because of the central location we were able to return to the apartment easily when we needed a rest. The bedrooms are comfortable and the hospitality was outstanding. We met with the owners and they gave us a wonderful tour of the apartment and many great recommendations for eating in Florence as well as directions to the nearest store for groceries. They had stocked the kitchen with some basic food items for us as well as a celebratory bottle of prosecco! The apartment comes with a maid who comes for two hours a day to clean if wanted. There is a functional washer and dryer which was quite handy. The owners are available to communicate with when needed. The apartment is on a busy street and street noise can be heard from some of the night clubs at night especially on the weekends. The owners have installed heavy glass windows and heavy shades that cover the windows which helps. Italy Perfect was very helpful in coordinating our stay and I would recommend them without hesitation. [Thank you for your lovely review John! We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the Lorenzo Apartment! The Italy Perfect Team]

Things to See & Do

Piazza Santa Croce (1 mins Walking)
Grand piazza of Florence, largest in the center. Fine historic palaces and reigned over by the brooding statue of Dante Alighieri. The cathedral is the temple to the "gods" of Italy including Michelangelo, Rossini, Machiavelli, Galileo and more. Location of events including Calcio Storico "the most brutal sport".
Piazza della Signoria (7 mins Walking)
Center of power of Florence since ancient times with the David statue by the Palazzo Vecchio, the ancient seat of government, and the loggia of dramatic statues each of which has a story about politics and power. Imagine the Bonfires of the Vanities here and the triumphal return of the Medici.
Uffizi Gallery (9 mins Walking)
One of the greatest museums in the world. The defining collection of Renaissance art. A tour is recommended.
Accademia (10 mins Walking)
Home of the original David by Michelangelo, his dramatic Bound Slaves and a very nice museum.
Duomo (10 mins Walking)
Florence's famous and glorious cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore, beautiful to gaze at since the 1300s. Don't miss and, if you can, read about -- then visit the amazing dome by Brunelleschi erected without scaffolding!
Piazza della Repubblica (10 mins Walking)
A great piazza of Florence. The shape reflects its role as the forum in Roman times. Now it has fine palaces and a triumphal arch and colonnaded sidewalks. You will see street artists, impromptu musical performances and a colorful merry-go-round. Glitterati in the fancy cafes.
