Le Farfalle Villa

Located in Tuscany’s scenic Val d’Orcia, a Unesco World Heritage site, the Le Farfalle Villa has stunning views of the incredibly beautiful countryside. Situated near the picturesque town of Montechiello and the beautiful small city of Pienza, it is a wonderful setting for the perfect Tuscany holiday.

You won’t want to miss wine tasting in Montalcino or a meal or two at Osteria La Porta, our favorite restaurant in Montechiello, where you can enjoy endless views of the Val d’Orcia from the outdoor dining area. This area is also known for its importance as a stopping along the Via Francigena, the ancient pilgrimage route that runs from Italy to France.

The villa’s views and verdant outdoor space are what dreams are made of when planning a trip to a Tuscany villa and Le Farfalle delivers big time on both counts. An outdoor dining area is sure to please for meals under the stars. A barbecue and an outdoor pizza oven are there for your outdoor feasts. 

The interior of the villa is in traditional Tuscan style with handsome wood beams dating back centuries and has retained its original layout when it once housed two farming families. The villa is always rented as one unit but has two separate living areas complete with lounging space and kitchens: the large main area on the ground floor has 5 bedrooms. The second level has 2 bedrooms. This works well for larger groups traveling together who want a bit of separation, such as two families traveling together or families traveling with grandparents and a nanny.

Pool open May 9 to October 3. There are no alarms for the pool. Guests are fully responsible for safety of all.

Payment: Upon reserving, 30% of the total rent is non-refundable.

€800 damage deposit, refundable less damage authorized to a credit card on arrival.

€250 final cleaning

Utilities/Taxes: Heat and A/C dates on/off and daily cycles are set by government. Heat and A/C paid locally.

Services: Continental breakfast available on the first morning, welcome buffet, cleaning (3hrs/mid week) with towel change included in rental.

Monticchiello (2 mins Driving)
In the heart of Val d'Orcia, this ancient village reflects its roots and its role as a stronghold for the Republic of Siena. An exhibition park below the medieval fortress is a nice wander and location of events. Several good restaurants invite you to return.
Pienza (7 mins driving)
A small and delightfull town featuring gorgeous architecture and amazing views. This peaceful town is known as the "Ideal Renaissance Town". Stroll along the walled city and capture views from every angle.
Chianciano Terme (12 mins Driving)
Fellini loved this town famous for its thermal baths. The ancient defensive wall surrounds a historic castle, beautiful clock tower, museum with art from the renaissance times and an archeological museum.
Montepulciano (17 mins Driving)
Top Tuscan town known for its eponymous wine, architecture from medieval times to the Renaissance.
Cortona (27 mins Driving)
Beautiful hilltop Tuscan town. In addition to restaurants and shops, an Etruscan museum, an archeological park with ancient fortifications and stretches of Roman roads. Paintings by Fra Angelico.
