Divine Dante Review

by Rankin Family
We just spent an amazing week in the Tuscan hills above Florence at the Divine Dante villa, former home of Dante Alighieri. What a historical treat to be staying in the villa. We were a party of 9 which included two families with 5 adult children. Each bedroom has two twins that can be made into a queen-sized bed and each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, which was perfect for our group. The on-site staff was a gentleman, Pieris, who is the nicest, kindest and most helpful person, which made our stay so wonderful. We enjoyed him so much. After taking us to the local grocery store, he always had coffee/tea and breakfast waiting for us every morning if we asked for it. We had an amazing cooking class experience with a local chef who came to the villa and Pieris dressed up to be our waiter. It was a truly special night. He was so helpful when we needed cabs or arranging any activities. The villa is perfect walking distance to the city centre of Florence. It took us 30-45 minutes to walk to the Duomo from the villa, which usually meant we window shopped most of the way. We walked down the hill on narrow streets (be careful of cars driving past) almost every day. The walk back up the hill to the villa is not too strenuous. But you can easily catch a cab in town to take you back to the villa. Cristiana is the contact for the Dante Villa and Italy Perfect. She was there to greet us when we arrived and explained all the aspects of the villa to us, including the importance of the electrical bill and air conditioning. Always make sure to turn the air off in each of the rooms when leaving for the day and keep the doors closed, which helps to keep the house cool. Cristiana was such a joy to work with and a big help in providing and arranging all of our activities, which included a cooking class at the villa to help celebrate birthdays. Since we were a large party, Cristiana arranged to have a local car service available to us during our stay. We used them for our travels to the cities of San Gimignano and Siena as well as travel to some really great wineries in the Chianti region. The drivers were very knowledgeable about the history of the region. Luca was one of our driver’s for the week and suggested we go to Castello della Paneretta winery for a tour and tasting. It was a wonderful experience. He then took us to Osteria Capanna del Gallo for an unforgettable dining experience. The food was amazing but the outdoor venue overlooking the Tuscan hills and sunset made for a great ending to a wonderful day! Our experience with Italy Perfect has been wonderful. All of our needs were met and between Cristiana and Pieris at the villa, we had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back soon as Florence is one of our favorite Italian cities. Thank you to the entire Italy Perfect and Divine Dante team! We had a great family vacation and your team helped in every way that we asked. The staff at Divine Dante was outstanding and they helped to arrange two wonderful dinners in the house. The house was plenty big for 10 of us. The location of the home was about a 10 minute walk to the closest bus station and a short taxi ride to the center of Firenze. We would 100% choose to work with Italy Perfect and we hope to go back to Divine Dante again in the future! And a final thank you to the Divine Dante team for their recommendations on tour companies, chefs, and restaurants. We had great experiences with every one of them! [We are glad we could help in making your experience amazing. We look forward to working with you again! The Italy Perfect Team.]

Divine Dante Review

by The Hogans
We stayed at Divine Dante for 7 nights and had a wonderful time. The villa is located outside of Florence, close to Fiesole, and is absolutely beautiful. Situated on beautifully landscaped, lush grounds the hundreds years old villa was recently(+/- 2 years ago) renovated and has modern conveniences/luxury in an old world setting. We loved the villa and it's spacious, very comfortable bedrooms and en suite bathrooms all on 2nd or 3rd floors. The main floor was beautiful with a very modern, efficient kitchen, large dining room, and sitting rooms, laundry, and a porch. The entire property was very tasteful and well appointed. There is a very helpful, professional house manager who made beds, cleaned rooms, prepared coffee, and was an excellent resource for the villa, the neighborhood, and for Florence. The villa is wonderful but in warm weather the first floor, which is not air conditioned as is the upper floors and does not have screens on all windows, got uncomfortably warm.[We are delighted you enjoyed your stay! Divine Dante Review

by Linda A
The minute we stepped into this fabulous villa, our vacation started with “ahhhh” and ‘oooohhh”s. Where do I start? Here are some of the highlights: 1. Villa itself is beautiful, inside and outside; 2. All the bedrooms and other rooms are well appointed; 3. Friendly staff made the stay more enjoyable; 4. 40 minute walk down to Florence city center is lovely and easy; We plan to get back there in the warmer month and highly recommend it to everyone.Thank you Italy Perfect and a special shout out to Pat Byrne for her professional service. [Thank you! So pleased you enjoyed your stay.]

Things to See & Do

Center of Florence (6 km Distance)
The capital of Tuscany with the greatest collection of great art and architecture in the world. Home of the Renaissance. Great shopping and dining and vino.
Fiesole (7 km Distance)
Hilltop Tuscan town right above Florence. Nice architecture, great small archeological park with Roman amphitheater, Etruscan temple and little museum. Florence city bus goes right there. Nice restaurants.
Florence airport (9 km Distance)
Amerigo Vespucci Airport/Peretola airport, small international airport quite close to the city centery. Code: FLR
Lucca (78 km Distance)
Famous for its medieval wall that encircles the city, a wonderful walk or bike ride. Wander the streets to see the piazza that was a roman amphitheater where emperors met. Good dining and shopping.
Siena (80 km Distance)
Called Italy's loveliest medieval city with cuisine, art, museums, churches and famous art. Unique medieval culture that is reflected in the twice annual Palio horse race that some call insane. Look for videos.
Pisa (87 km Distance)
Of course, you must visit this great town and climb the leaning tower! The cathedral is excellent. Take a tour. Home of Galileo. Ancient enemy of Florence and source of its salt with the consequence that Florentine bread has not salt, to this day, resulting in many Florentine dishes containing stale bread.
