Exceptionally large and luxurious apartment located in a historical palace by the famous turtle fountain, it features frescoes from the 16th and 17th centuries.

The formal staircase with its red carpet lets you rise to the Piano Nobile - the formal floor, the 1st floor European designation for the members of the noble owner's family and reception of visitors. Be sure to re-watch the classic movie The Talented Mr. Ripley with Matt Damon and find yourself opening the door to Ripley's apartment, now completely renovated, of course!

On the main level is a spacious living and dining room. The design is intriguing with comfortable seating combined with modern pieces. An antique fireplace adjoins a minimalist self-serve bar. Modern art is a pleasant contrast with the gorgeous coffered ceiling with frescoes.

The billiard room is a special amenity with the billiard table and an exceptional set of frescoes below a ceiling fresco 'Arming Aeneas' by Cavalier d'Arpino from early in the 1600s.

Pass through the billiards room to find the full kitchen.

Location

This neighborhood of Rome is very old so the winding streets exhibit charming discoveries at every turn. The piazza in front of this palazzo is famous for the Turtle fountain in Renaissance style is from the late 1500s and features with four graceful boys pushing turtles over the edge, surrounded by eight dolphins. The piazza is in the ancient Jewish quarter so you can wander and enjoy Jewish shops and food, including the speciality of the area Carciofi alla Giudia, Jewish-style artichokes.

Nearby are the famous Piazza Navona and Campo de' Fiori. The Capitoline Hill, Roman Forum and Coliseum are easy walking distance.

The palazzo itself is the seat of the ancient Costaguti family that acquired it in the 1500s and many members live there to this day.

An Wonderful Experience

by Garret

We were so pleased with this apartment. It wasn't accommodations but a wonderful experience. There are so many elements of art and design to appreciate. The building itself is an experience. And the neighborhood has so many layers of history we reveled in it. Service was excellent.

Delightful Experience

Very good experience here. We were a group of colleagues attending a conference and could hardly wait till it was over each day to get back to Cavaliere and this whole part of Rome.

Perfect for our Family!

by Claire Newland

Our clan gathered in Rome and was very pleased to stay in this fascinating apartment. It has everything even a pool table! Beautiful and interesting art and architecture everywhere. The a/c and appliances worked. Hosts very helpful. AND the location in Rome is amazing, central with so many interesting aspects. We will never forget.
