Surround yourself in history in one of Rome’s most cherished historic neighborhoods, lined with upscale restaurants, antiques shops and wonderful restaurants. The Cardinale apartment ticks all the boxes for authenticity, noble character and Roman charm.

Location

You can’t get a better location than famous Via dei Coronari where you can stroll with the Romans along the beautiful street, only two blocks from Piazza Navona. From this excellent location you can easily walk to all the major sites.

Exterior

The building dates back to the 1500’s, passed down to the descendants of a famous Roman Cardinal, it eventually became a monastery. Impressively, the front door of the building is reported to be original!

Interior

The apartment is welcoming with large, well proportioned rooms, gorgeous original beamed ceilings, marble doorframes and warm herringbone floors. The apartment feels both grand and homey at the same time. The living room is roomy with two sofas, the large window overlooks Via dei Coronari. The large dining room has a beautiful leaded stained glass window that opens to the inner light well.

Bedroom 1 has an entire wall of closets, the window opens to the inner light well, meaning quiet for sleeping. Bedroom 2 is perfect for one person, the window opens to Via dei Coronari.

There is air conditioning in bedroom 1 and in the living room. The air conditioning from the living room will reach bedroom 2 with the bedroom door left open. Both bedrooms are accessed off the living room.

The two bathrooms are located off the hallway, just after you step through the front door. The kitchen is opposite.

The kitchen is a true Italian mamma’s kitchen, many a fantastic family meal have been cooked here without fancy features. The large widow opens to the light well.

Location & Safety

by Brenda Fuentes

Excellent staff from reservation to departure. Superb location to start any Rome adventure. Our family of 3 felt safe walking at night and venturing around. There is a convenient Taxi station nearby if your travels require some driving. Overall, the apartment was very clean, well equipped and fresh. Our daughter indicated the smaller bed was not comfortable and sofas were not suitable for sleeping. Nonetheless, we had a fantastic stay and hope to return to explore more in the future.

Perfect location

by Dawn Bartholow

We loved our stay at the Cardinale. The location is perfect…at the doorstep is a wonderful small restaurant with Piazza Navona just a few steps away. We had an incident where we lost hot water…totally our fault and help arrived within 30 minutes. The apartment is beautiful and the bed was comfortable. Suggestions is a larger Moka pot (we purchased one for the duration of the trip as a souvenir) and the couches were uncomfortable. Even with these issues we would definitely book again for our next visit.

Cardinale Apartment

by John G Emerson

Large apartment that is a walkup with at least 25 steps. Fully equipped kitchen, gas cooktop, full size fridge. 2 bathrooms, one with a tub. A/C is nice and cold. You could hang meat! Master bedroom is internal and does not face the alley so it is pitch black dark with the shutters closed - another plus. Gorgeous hardwood floors. Formal dining room. Nice faux marble finishes around the doors. Gorgeous wooden celling must be 14 ft high. Our host was wonderful and brought us an ice tray for the freezer and a brand new toaster so we could toast the wonderful bread of Rome. Helped with our noon departure so we didn't have to be out at exactly 10 AM. Lovely gal. Went above and beyond.

Base Nightly Rates – May Not Include Fees such as Greeting, Cleaning, Damage Waiver, Payment Processing and Tourist Taxes. For full price, please put in dates.
