Fit for a Roman god or goddess, Apollo Palazzo is an exceptional five-bedroom, five-bathroom residence in the heart of Rome. A rare find in the historic center, this spacious three-level home offers a blend of modern comfort and timeless elegance. Located in the prestigious Campo Marzio district, just moments from Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, it is surrounded by historic beauty, lively cafés and world-class shopping. Once the studio of Caravaggio, its private terrace crowns the home, perfect for enjoying an aperitivo under the Roman sky.

On the first floor, the large living room is designed with contemporary Italian style, featuring a large L-shaped leather sofa and an Eames chair. Set apart by a partial wall, the elegant dining area includes a built-in desk that’s a convenient touch. Sliding glass doors open from the living room and dining area to an internal common area. A foosball table near the foyer adds a fun touch. The modern kitchen is fully equipped, and a mini gym offers an in-home workout space. This floor also has two bathrooms as well as a separate half bathroom.

The second floor includes a lovely common sitting area with a rattan cocoon chair, a relaxing space to unwind. This level features three beautifully appointed bedrooms, along with a bathroom that has a bathtub. A separate spa-like hydro mini pool adds an extra touch of indulgence. The mezzanine level, accessed from this floor, has an additional bedroom with an en suite bathroom with a shower. The mezzanine ceiling height at 250cm is a bit less than the standard 270-300cm ceiling height throughout the rest of the home.

On the third floor, bedroom 1 is a serene retreat with its own en suite bathroom. It features vaulted wooden beamed ceilings, painted white for a bright and airy feel. From this bedroom, a short staircase leads to the private terrace. This apartment was once the studio of the painter Caravaggio (1571-1610), one of the most famous painters of the early Baroque period. His paintings are celebrated for their drama, vivid scenes and use of light. The top bedroom was once his studio where the ceiling was removed to bring in light from above, a key element in his dramatic use of chiaroscuro (strong contrast of light and shadow). The terrace was added to enable the raising and lowering of his large canvases that would not fit in the stairwell. You can find his wonderful paintings throughout Rome.
