Sonata
It doesn’t get more Dolce Vita than this! Picture yourself relaxing on the verdant terrace in the heart of historic Rome. The beautifully appointed Sonata apartment is located on a small street just minutes from famous Campo del Fiori, Piazza Navona and directly across the river from enchanting Trastevere. You could not be more central.
Immerse yourself in Roman history, culture, and dining from this coveted location. Indulge in a cappuccino and sweet maritozzo at Roscioli Caffe’ in the morning, explore the sites with museum-going, tours, dine to your heart’s delight at any of the many fabulous restaurants in the neighborhood. Nearby shopping on chic Via dei Coronari, Via del Governo Vecchio or Via Giulia where the Italian artistry of fine clothing, antiques, leather goods and jewelry is on display.
The building dates back to the 1400’s, one can only imagine the history its walls have witnessed.
The Sonata apartment will make your heart sing with its warm and elegant design mixed with features that incorporate original beamed ceilings and Juliette balconies. Wall niches dating back centuries that were discovered hidden behind the walls during the renovation and now bookshelves, all of which blends beautifully into the careful and tasteful design. The color palette was inspired by the rich colors inside the church directly across the street, Santa Maria in Monticelli. Be sure to stop in to admire it while you’re there.
The living room is a masterpiece in refined decor with pleasant views out to the charming terrace. The terrace will be your outdoor living room during the many months of the year when Rome’s mediterranean climate prevails. The carved, gilded antique mirror on the living room wall cleverly reflects the terrace views. A comfy sofa and two armchairs complete the room.
The kitchen is meticulously designed and appointed, with top-of-the-line appliances. The dining area is comfortable and boasts charming views from the Juliette balcony over the church. Observe daily rituals of the church rectory’s caretaker-cook tending to herbs on the roof of the church: basil, rosemary, thyme, marjoram. A secret world of Roman charm you never knew existed. The banquette seating for the dining table provides a comfortable spot for lounging over a long meal, or for catching up on work with your laptop while enjoying the views outside.
From the bedroom, also with a Juliette balcony, you can wake up each morning and take in the views of the of the church’s beautiful bell tower without even stepping out of bed. The bedroom is very spacious and has loads of closet space with an entire wall of closets and cupboards opposite the bed. The en suite bathroom has a large shower.
A second full bathroom is off the hallway, perfect for couples or friends who like to each have their own bathroom, or when there are three people staying, with one sleeping on the comfortable sofa bed in the living room.

Fantastic accommodations in Rome
by Shauna M PellauerWe loved our stay at the Sonata. It's a gorgeous space that is also welcoming and functional. The location is ideal. We were gone sightseeing to take much advantage of the deck, but it is beautiful and definitely made me happy to see it. The beds and linens were comfortable, and we appreciated our helpful greeter. My daughter thought the fold-out bed worked well, and we loved that there were two well-appointed bathrooms. It's a fabulous place that I recommend highly.
Excellent stay
by Gary SExcellent stay in Apartment Sonata. Great location and everything as described. The terrace is a huge bonus, perfect on the lovely Spring days we had.
Recommend this property
by Martine PL'appartement est très bien situé, au calme. Les échanges sont rapides avec l'hôtesse. Je recommande ce logement.
Translation: The apartment is very well located, quiet. Exchanges are quick with the hostess. I would recommend this property.
Super location
by AlexWe loved our little Roman apartment. Super location, lots of space, all brand new having just been renovated. We kept wine and Morettis in the fridge and heated up extra Roscioli pizza in the oven. We pulled out the couch bed and put blankets on it to have a cozy daybed TV room. We did a load of laundry. The lighting is terrific - no dimmers but lots of options for low, warm light at night. You’ll finally figure out all the switches by the time you leave, but that’s a good problem. Everyone room has an AC/heater unit. High floor so cute views of the ancient neighboring buildings out the windows and on the lovely patio. Only constructive feedback is that the bed was a bit firm for our tastes and the pillows not super supportive - but it could have been much worse, maybe we were just jet lagged and blaming it on the bed. Also couldn’t find a bread knife but we made do with the sharp little guys. Ciao, grazie!
We are delighted you so thoroughly enjoyed the apartment, the location, the terrace and the views. It is true that Italian mattresses tend to be firm. The bread knife has been located. The Italy Perfect Team
Absolutely amazing
by Valentina PThe apartment was absolutely amazing. The interior was modern and clean. The location was also perfect. I would definitely recommend.
The lovely terrace was a wonderful bonus to enjoy the quiet warm evenings of our Roman holiday
by VeeraWe had a wonderful stay at ItalyPerfect’s place for one week. Everything was smooth from the first moment till checkout. The location of the apartment was fabulous, in walking distance to Rome’s major attractions. There were plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes and some grocery stores in a neighborhood. The apartment itself was just as described: very cozy, freshly renovated, clean and well-appointed and had a comfortable bed and lounge. The kitchen was great to cook in. The lovely terrace was a wonderful bonus to enjoy the quiet warm evenings of our Roman holiday. I could not miss a small and slow but very charming elevator which was extremely helpful to get to third floor. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Sonata apartment as a great place to explore Rome from.
Loads of Charm
by Monica R.We had a wonderful stay. Enjoyed the terrace. Took long walks along the river, people-watched at Campo dei Fiori, coffee & maritozzo at Roscioli, explored the Roman Forum, shopped on Via dei Coronari...and already started to plan our return stay at the Sonata apartment.
