Live like royalty with spectacular views over the Arno river and the Uffizi Gallery! The spacious, refined and very elegant Vela exudes sophistication, comfort and elegance.
A large and bright apartment with lovely views of the Arno river and the storied galleries of the Uffizi, once the offices of the powerful Medici family.
Located in a Renaissance palazzo directly across the river from the Uffizi Gallery, Florence`s most famous museum. You`ll enjoy beautiful views of Florence and the Arno river.
The building blends with its Renaissance-age neighbors with grey stone, pietra serena, accenting its classical proportions. The building is locked and has a doorman during business hours.
The welcoming entry has an antique table with mirror and a coat closet. The front three rooms of the apartment, the living room and two bedrooms have splendid views of the Arno River, the Uffizi Gallery art musuem, the Ponte Vecchio with its little houses and the Vasari Corridor and, above it all, the iconic bell tower of the Palazzo Vecchio. Each element of the view resounds with history of the city that contains more art than any other in the world. Because the palazzo faces the river, there are no buildings in front, maximizing natural light.
We love this palazzo when we stay in Florence because the apartments are full of light, have great views, and are decorated with quality and style.
The first and largest bedroom opens onto the entry (with door) and also onto the living room (with door). A rich color palette of dusty salmon and ivory in the fabrics extends to antique bird prints on the walls. There is a queen sized bed, armoire, bureau and a view!
In the living room there is a sofa and three upholstered chairs. The dining table, also located here seats up to eight.
Opposite the living room is a well equipped and light-filled kitchen, with a breakfast table. The kitchen is fully equipped; it has a low counter that can be used as a breakfast table for two.
The kitchen window and third bedroom overlook Via dei Bardi and terracotta rooftops with a nice view uphill of rooftops, the hills and sky.
Along the central hallway are two more bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Pitti Palace (10 mins Walking)
The famous Medici family's home, it is a large museum with many fascinating galleries. It opens to the large Boboli gardens that may be visited separately. I the origin of the Vasari Corridor, an enclosed, protective "bridge" between the palace and the Medici offices at the Uffizi.

One of the greatest museums in the world. The defining collection of Renaissance art. A tour is recommended.
Duomo (15 mins Walking)
Florence's famous and glorious cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore, beautiful to gaze at since the 1300s. Don't miss and, if you can, read about -- then visit the amazing dome by Brunelleschi erected without scaffolding!
Piazza della Repubblica (15 mins Walking)
A great piazza of Florence. The shape reflects its role as the forum in Roman times. Now it has fine palaces and a triumphal arch and colonnaded sidewalks. You will see street artists, impromptu musical performances and a colorful merry-go-round. Glitterati in the fancy cafes.
