Treasure the vista of a lifetime...the icon of the ancient city of the Romans, the Coliseum, from this fully equipped and spacious apartment.

Location

This location is wonderful for the view and convenient for sightseeing. The subway stops at the Coliseum, very handy. A trolley that runs in front (that you truly don't hear from inside the apartment) connects to the Ostiense train station.

You are in the center of ancient Rome with the Coliseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Forum Romanum and the Domus Aurea all right outside your door.

The local Monti neighborhood is right in the center of the Eternal City. It is characteristically Roman, one of the most ancient neighborhoods in the city. 2000 years ago was where Julius Cesar grew up. Traditionally a neighborhood of craftsmen, you will find old and modern arts and crafts side by side. There is a wealth of restaurants, beautiful shops with fine items of all kinds.

The picturesque streets of Monti appear in many movies since the area retains so much authentic charm.

Exterior

The sophisticated building was designed and built by a famous architect in 1870. You can see the quality in the elegant entry and the generous proportions of the rooms and ceilings. The famous Roman philosopher Seneca lived on this site.

This fine building was featured in the film La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty), Academy Award in 2013 wherein it is the home of the protagonist. The scenes on the rooftop terrace features the same breathtaking view as from this apartment.

Interior

The two-level layout of Imperial Vista is spacious and flexible making it comfortable for many combinations of visitors.

On the main level is a large entry room with sofa that leads to the study. The study has the most spectacular view of the Coliseum from french doors and a Juliet balcony. This room has a sofa, hutch and a table perhaps for your computer and correspondence.

Handsome arched doorways, that reflect the arches of the Coliseum, connect the study to the living room. The Coliseum views out the window almost upstage original art on the walls. The art collection is eclectic with fine original oils, pastels and drawings. Several pieces feature cats, the famous mascot animal of the Coliseum.

These front rooms face west for spectacular sunset vistas of the Coliseum and Arch of Constantine. The window and french doors are super insulated, when closed, they block the noise from outside. We tested it ourselves and were impressed at the sound dampening of the windows.

Beyond the dining room is a full kitchen that has three windows that overlook the internal courtyard, local rooftops and a utility balcony.

Our family of three stayed at the Imperial Vista in November for a week. We could not have been more comfortable in this spacious, impeccably maintained apartment. It is well appointed, with a fully equipped kitchen and separate living and dining areas. In the immediate neighborhood is a good grocery, Carrefour Express, and a good enoteca, Wineconcept (reserve a wine tasting). The Colosseo metro station is only a few minutes' walk, making it easy to travel beyond the city center. The view of the Colosseum from the apartment is spectacular. This was not our first trip to Rome, but it was our first experience with renting an apartment abroad. The Italy Perfect staff were very helpful as we decided which apartment would best meet our needs in Rome (and in Florence), and they were quick to answer questions via email during our stay. Our trip to Italy was our best experience with overseas travel to date, and we attribute this to our Italy Perfect accommodations. Favorite experiences from this trip: walking along the Via dei Fori Imperiali at dusk (always a favorite); a private tour of the Roman Forum (with Daniella Hunt from Mirabilia Urbis Tours); the fourth-century mosaics at Santa Constanza; a very good lunch at Sorpasso in the Prati neighborhood; Centrale Montemartini, which stages antiquities in an unusual setting; an excellent dinner at Colline Emiliane. We loved our stay at the apartment. We were greeted by the sweetest lady (mother of the owner I believe). She was very helpful and thorough explaining everything in the apartment. The location of the apartment was great, the view of the Colosseum- especially at night was amazing! Many restaurants and a grocery store are close by. Any questions or concerns we had were quickly answered and/or addressed. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Rome.

Our family had the great fortune of staying at this lovely apartment which is directly across from the Coliseum. We loved the view from the balcony. The space is large, beautifully decorated and in a great location. Bus stop and taxi just outside. Ana, the owner, greeted us graciously and shared stories of her time in the apartment.I would highly recommend this place and using Italy Perfect.

This property was just perfect for our group of 5 for a 3 day adventure. The communication could not have been better through out the entire HomeAway rental as the owner and Pat from Italy Perfect were awesome. We had an amazingly and gracious host, Albertina! Our arrival could not have been better as we were met by Albertina at the perfect spot to unload our rental car right across the street from the Colosseum. The apartment was very special and even better than portrayed online. Albertina had so many extras for our group as the refrigerator was well stocked with eggs, milk, juice, wine, and the best Greek yougart ever that actually came from her farm. The charm of the apartment reflected the loving attention and detail of the owner. Everything you may want to visit is right at your fingertips...grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, gelatos, taxi service right out the front door...not to mention the fabulous unobstructed view of the Coliseum . We would absolutely return to the Imperial Vista Apartment!

This is a beautiful apartment in a fantastic location. We were 2 couples and the bed/bath situation worked well. One snag with the third bath was the shower head didn't stay in place, we couldn't use it. The living rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Leaving the building could be hectic because there is a taxi stand right outside but that's also helpful when you need it. I would absolutely recommend this apartment. [Thank you so much for your happy review and recommendation. We have fixed the shower head! Please come again.]

The Imperial Vista is a fabulous place to stay in Rome. The apartment is well furnished and beautifully decorated, and the Carrefour Express supermarket around the corner and taxi stand at the front door are highly convenient. And you really can't beat having the Colosseum standing across the street viewable right out your window. 5 stars!

My family and I arrived early and the owner accommodated us and check-in was a breeze. The owner's mother met us at the building and showed us around and was so very accommodating and gracious. Some essential food items had been purchased by the owner, which was very nice as well. The location was unbelievable with such a beautiful view of the Colosseum! Words cannot describe the view. The location was perfect with a small store around the corner for various food items and various restaurants and bars right out the door. Also, a taxi stand is situated right outside the building, which was perfect for trips to the Vatican, train station, etc. This was the first leg of our Italy vacation and I wanted to impress my wife and daughters and they were overjoyed with the spot. I cannot say enough about this wonderful property, the gracious hosts and the view!!! Grazie!!!!

My wife and I stayed her with her mother and sister for moms 70th birthday. We had plenty of private space and spent a lot of time together in the locking room. The view of the coliseum from the living room is STUNNING. We enjoyed cafe in the morning and limoncello in the evening, viewing this amazing structure... Anna was awesome, met us at the front door at our arrival, walked us through the house and showed us all the little things we needed to know. She even left a few items for us in the refrigerator. So sweet... We will definitely stay here again when we’re back in Italy...

We were two adults and one teenager, so this accommodation was perfect for us. The teen had his own private space upstairs and we had our own bedroom below with private baths for both. The apartment is stunning, with extraordinary views of the Colosseum and very tasteful art and bookshelves - felt very much like a beloved private home. Well-located directly across from the Colosseum and with a taxi stand right outside the front door. Plenty of good restaurants and a grocery store nearby. Hosteria i Clementi restaurant a few blocks away highly recommended! Our hosts were responsive and very generous with their space. [We are delighted to year that you enjoyed your stay! The insulated windows made it a quiet oasis with a busy, bustling city right outside. Views are memorable and this lovely 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom with a daybed is perfect for a family visiting the sights of Rome. The kitchen was stocked and perfect for light meals. We had such a memorable stay at the Imperial Vista, in Rome. It is such a special place and the views of the Colosseum are simply jaw dropping! My family of 5 had plenty of space and the flat has several sitting areas to relax in between sightseeing and dining excursions. The building is very centrally located. Albertina could not have been more gracious and patient in meeting and orienting us upon our arrival. We hope to stay here again one day! One tip: note that regular check in time is late afternoon, so if you are arriving early make arrangements for early check in.[We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to working with you again in the future. This apartment was amazing. You really can sit by the window and gaze across at the Colosseum. We stayed for 6 nights and found it a perfect location for exploring Rome. Sometimes we took the Metro, as it is nearby, other times we walked into Piazza Navona. The apartment came with a great guide for places to eat and visit. We loved Hostaria da Nerone (Via delle Terme di Tito 96, 00184 Rome, Italy (Monti)). The apartment itself was special. It has been beautifully furnished with antiques and book-lined walls. This makes it such a special experience to stay in, before you even begin to think about the stunning view. The washing machine was very handy, as were the milk and cereal waiting for us when we arrived. We were carefully shown around the apartment, actually this tour around the apartment helped us notice so many of the little touches that we appreciated it even more. There is a supermarket just around the corner that was well stocked. There are stairs up to 2 of the sleeping areas, with one bedroom on the ground level of the apartment itself. There were no issues with street noise, which is greatly minimised when the windows are closed. Also, all the bedrooms are away from the street side of the apartment. We have stayed many places before, and this was one of those special places that we will always remember, and hope to return to. Thank you for having us! [Thank you for your great review! We are thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful stay! The Italy Perfect Team.]

The Imperial Vista apartment is beautifully decorated and has stunning views of the Colosseum. The owners provided a thorough introduction to the apartment and stocked the frig with the basics, including a few jars of their own delicious yogurt. It's hard to imagine a better base for exploring classical Rome, including the Domus Aurea, Colosseum, and Forum, all within easy walking distance, as is the San Clemente church with its layers of history and San Pietro in Vincoli with Michelangelo's Moses. We walked to the Monti district and found several good restaurants; we also took full advantage of the taxi stand right outside for touring other parts of Rome. We were a party of five, and it perhaps helped that we had synchronized schedules since conversations carried from the living rooms to bedrooms on the mezzanine level. Highly recommended. dana t. BERKELEY, CA LOOK NO FURTHER! STAY HERE! 5 of 5 The pictures say it all...really. I was really looking forward to our stay at this fantastic apartment as part of our trip to Italy. Those expectations were met and exceeded. What a treat to stay in this one-of-a-few apartments. After a week in hotels, it was great for our family of four to spread out for a few days and be able to prepare some meals at home. Anna, the host and owner, greeted our family upon arrival. That in of itself was worth the cost of admission. She took so much joy is sharing all aspects of the apartment with us and unexpectantly and kindly had stocked the fridge with some necessities. Such warmth and genuine interest in our family and our visit to her city. Although right across the street from the biggest attraction in Rome, the apartment itself is relatively quiet and with the shutters closed (at night for instance) absolutely quiet. Each bedroom has an efficient AC unit that made sleeping very comfortable. During the day they were off and the apartment was cooled with open kitchen and living room windows. The galley style kitchen is small by US standards--best for one person operation. But so glad to have a chance to cook and prepare simple meals. Well appointed. (loved the Italian style Moka coffee maker, aided by Youtube video instruction I found). The main floor has a "master bedroom" with a queen size bed and bath. One upstairs sleeping area has a single bed and is open aired, ie similar to a loft. Given we closed the front shutters at night this sleeping area remained dark for late sleep ins when necessary. (we walked and walked and walked and went to bed late many nights). The third sleeping area is a double bed up a spiral staircase, more of an enclosed room than the other elevated sleeping space. Each sleeping space has its own bath. The living room and den space each have long couches that could be sleeping spaces as well if you had another person or two (we were four). There is a European style (ie all-in-one) clothes washer & dryer in one of the upstairs bathrooms. Despite many trips to Europe, I've yet to master these units....There are manufacturers instructions but still, we had a devil of a time getting a "load" done in anything less than 5 hours. Clearly we need some training:) My teens were amazed as were the adults. A grand oasis in the heart of the city yet away from the teaming crowds of center city. 5 minutes walk to metro, groceries literally around the corner.Just down the street about 10 minutes is an excellent bike tour company. Highly recommend an evening tour with them OR renting a bike on your own as their equipment is top notch. Top Bike. Pat from Italyperfect was a tremendous help and resource. Not only did she make the booking process seamless, she also helped with a number of questions I had about our stay in Rome in general, even helping secure a restaurant reservation in Italian. I will definitely seek out Italy Perfect in the future. [Thank you so much for your lovely review Dana, we are delighted you had a wonderful time and look forward to welcoming you again! To watch the sun set behind the Colosseum is nothing short of magical, then you see it lit up at night and it takes your breath away. In the morning you open the shutters and see it getting ready for another day in its almost 2,000 year life...wow! The view alone would be reason enough to rent Imperial Vista, but there is so much more. Our stay was the culmination of three weeks of non-stop Italian fun and we were exhausted and grumpy at check in. Albertina's mother was elegant and gracious - she quickly showed us the apartment amenities, the thoughtful groceries in the refrigerator, and left us to recharge in the amazing air conditioning. The apartment is beautiful and so comfortable. My family of five had plenty of room - which was needed as we attempted to consolidate our luggage for the flight home! My only regret was that we didn't have more time at Imperial Vista. There are so many good restaurants nearby - we stumbled upon popular-looking, Tempio Di Mecenate and it was one of our best meals! It was so easy to walk across the street early the next morning for our wonderful, private guided tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill (CrisRomanGuide.com). We then walked to the Holy Stairs (Scala Sancta) and enjoyed a satisfying lunch at Merulana Cafe (great suppli and burgers). We rocked out at the U2 concert at Stadio Olimpico that last night and had four hours of sleep before our driver (RomeValueTransfer.com) picked us up for the airport at 7am. I cannot thank Lisa and ItalyPerfect enough for their amazing apartments, the incredible information they provide, and their invaluable advise. I have already recommended ItalyPerfect to several friends and hope to use their services again soon! I stayed with my husband and two children (ages 19 and 23) in an Italy Perfect apartment right across the street from the Colosseum the first week in July. The apartment was lovely. A small door from the busy street opened into a quiet and lovely apartment building with a charming old elevator. Our apartment was on the third floor and it was nicely appointed with gorgeous views from the living room of the Colosseum. The kitchen was perfect and the refrigerator was stocked with some goodies and staples for us. We travel with vegan food so it was so nice to have a place to put it. We slept in the downstairs bedroom which was nice and quiet and had a well-functioning air conditioner. The kids slept upstairs in separate bedrooms and it was nice for us all to have our own space but be together in the apartment! The area around the apartment is nice and safe (certainly bustling with tourists) it is a short walk to the Trastevere district which is very cool (I highly recommend doing a Twilight Trastevere Food Tour!!). There are some cafes and shops around the immediate neighborhood also. One of the best features was a taxi stand right outside the building! Overall a great place to stay and we wouldn't hesitate to book an Italy Perfect apartment in the future! [Thank you Shari, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]

This apartment is absolutely stunning. A large, open space with high ceilings, and artwork and books and fine woodwork everywhere, this is a luxury property for discerning guests—we felt like we were staying in our own high-end apartment in Rome, not in a rental unit. And the views of the Colosseum are incredible—day, night, sunset, anytime. The apartment is also very well situated. You can walk to most sites in central Rome and, if you don’t feel like walking, there is a taxi stand right outside the lobby door (and taxis in Rome are cheap). There are restaurants nearby and a grocery store right around the corner. It was like having a grocery store in the lobby! We met both Albertina and her mother and they were both wonderful, helpful people. Many thanks to them and the ItalyPerfect team for a wonderful stay in Rome! My brother's family and I had a fantastic stay at this apartment. You cannot have a more perfect view of the Colisseum. Every night we took pictures of it with the sunset in the background. There are very nice restaurants and convenient markets close by. But what was even better is that the apartment has lots of character, is filled with books and art work, with lots of wood everywhere. It was so great that we invited some people over one night to have a glass of wine. Since I was the first to arrive, I got the tour from the owner, who is a very welcoming lady. She even had brought us yogurt from her organic farm. We took a few cabs to visit the sites that were a little further away (Vatican, villa Borghese) but always walked back to the apartment at night. Thank you very much Albertina, for this very memorable stay in Rome. [Thank you Isabelle, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay! The Italy Perfect Team]

By far the most beautiful apartment that I have ever stayed in. My wife and two children stay there for two weeks from Christmas Day until January 5. Never once did we have to get in touch with the owner or property manager. This apartment truly was turn key. This apartment is located in the absolute heart and center of Rome. Coliseum is absolutely as advertised I think that Google said we are 800 feet away from structure with unobstructed views. The 24 hour grocery store was very helpful with lots of cabs parked right down below. The apartment was very tidy, very elegant, and rich with history and culture. Basically a three bedroom three bath. The kitchen was perfect size with all the amenities. The building itself was very safe with big heavy secure doors. Comfortable beds with down comforters, washer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, and wifi everything worked perfectly. Plenty of local pubs and places to eat within walking distance.. If you are looking to have an extravagant stay in Rome this is the place to rent. Very large ,roomy, warm , and comfortable and the view is absolutely over-the-top . Did I say that the view was absolutely over-the-top. We celebrated New Year's Eve at the apartment with the balcony open looking out at the Colosseum. Really hard for me to describe in words how beautiful and breathtaking this apartment is.

Imperial Vista Review

by Betsy
The Rome apartment (Imperial Vista) was absolutely the most wonderful place I have EVER stayed. I have told all my friends to please skip hotels and head there for a most magical experience. The kitchen definitely is not one for anyone that wants to spend a lot of time cooking, but I had no desire to cook with all the restaurants in the area. The daughter of the owner met us and showed us around. I was utterly amazed when she showed my nine year old granddaughter her ink pens and bottles of ink at the desk and told her to use them! As a landlord, that would have been the last thing I wanted renters using in my property. What a hit! Granddaughter Parrish spent her free minutes drawing the Colosseum from the window. I had worried a bit about tourist traffic and the dreaded ‘gypsies’ but as you know that was not an issue at all. With the crosswalk to the Colosseum at our door front, plus the taxis there, it was just the most perfect setup. I think I told you that I have told my adult children that I do not intend on leaving them much money, but rather a lot of memories. This one was just the best. You book was a huge hit with the 9 year old. Many thanks for sharing. Wish I had known about your British version as that was our destination two year ago. I will send you a couple of photos I think you will enjoy when I am done with this. I cannot thank you enough for your help in my trip prep. When you called, I was at an impasse and truthfully was sorry I had volunteered to do all the planning. But it all worked out perfectly. Our driver from Milan to Venice was such a delight. Angelo. The family is still talking about him.One more thanks. Needless to say you can use me as a reference for the apartment.[What a delightful review of your family’s experience at the Imperial Vista apartment. I love the photos of your granddaughter. Love to hear it was the best place ever! Wonderful to hear the way you express that it is a memory you are leaving for them. So glad the little book was a hit, too! The Italy Perfect Team]

Imperial Vista Review

by Jon and Susie
From start to finish our stay in Rome was...Perfect! Our apartment was across the street from the Colosseum and was exactly as advertised - it is gorgeous! Upon arrival we were met by our greeter (owner) who showed us how to work the AC, appliances, and give us the keys for our stay. The apartment was incredibly clean and all linens and towels were provided as requested. The building is very quiet, very safe, and the perfect place to retreat from the busy city when you're ready to relax a bit. We loved seeing the Colosseum out our window every morning and night - beautiful! The neighborhood around the apartment is charming and there is a Carrefour (small grocery) literally right around the corner and open 24/7 for any items you might need or want. We like to walk and enjoyed walking to most sites: Palatine Hill, Capitoline Museum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon. If you do not want to walk, there is a taxi queue right outside the front door of the building. We used the taxis to go to the Vatican and to the train station one day. Over all, our family our family of five: two adults and three teenagers had the perfect stay in Rome!! We used the "Perfect company" once before in London and will most definitely use this company again! Loved it! [Thank you for your fine review. It is so nice to enjoy Rome and the Imperial Vista through your eyes. The Italy Perfect Team]

Imperial Vista Review

Imperial Vista was one of the many highlights of our trip to Rome. The apartment was wonderful- the view of the colosseum from our windows was spectacular Cab stand right outside and metro nearby. The beds were comfortable and kitchen sufficient for our needs. AC was welcome given heat. Owners were lovely. We would definitely stay there again. Pat was very helpful to us. We talked live and via email several times. She was a wonderful resource for our first trip to Rome. I look forward to her help when we return. [Thanks so much, Caren! The Italy Perfect Team]
