Casa Ruffo is a charming private home with a large garden and spectacular views tucked in the heart of Rome. Enjoy Rome from this rare and exclusive location.

The house is situated on a 7 acre noble estate located within a short walking distance of the Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps and Borghese gardens. The view from the terrace of the casetta stretches from the rooftops of the Spanish Steps neighborhood to St Peter's Basilica and the hills of Rome.

This spectacular private estate is home to a few other villas and has been owned by the same family for many centuries.

For large groups, Casa Ruffo can be rented in conjunction with Villa Aurora next door.

Location

Casa Ruffo is tucked away on a small street that gently rises from Piazzale Flaminio. A short 2 blocks from the city, you will enter the property through a private gated entry and quickly enjoy the verdant grounds of this special retreat, so close and yet so far from the hustle and bustle of central Rome. The street continues up for another 2 blocks, eventually opening into the beautiful Borghese Gardens.

Exterior

Casa Ruffo was recently remodeled yet still has the traditional feel of Rome with vine covered exterior walls and terracotta tiled roof. The terrace off of the living room is surrounded by a garden and beautiful trees on one side and the rooftops of Rome below. In the distance you can see the roof of St Peter's Basilica. The terrace has a large marble table and seating for 6. As you watch the sunset, or enjoy your morning coffee, you can feel the energy of the Rome below from this tranquil retreat.

Interior

The living room of the home is inviting and comfortable with large windows and glass door facing the terrace with the same views of Rome; on the adjoining wall there is another large window facing the garden. The room has a fireplace, beautiful beamed ceiling and clean hardwood floors. The furniture includes antique tables in the sitting area and very comfortable upholstered sofas and chairs. There is a large glass dining table under the window.

The room is both a charming gathering place and a peaceful spot to read a book. The design makes excellent use of the space, is well laid out and furnished. It feels like a you are staying in a friend's private home, except you're in one of the most exclusive and coveted private estates in the center of Rome!

As you walk down the hall from the living room, you reach a very bright kitchen with modern appliances and good space to work. The kitchen also has a large window facing the garden and city beyond.

The house is on two levels, with living room, kitchen, master bedroom, bathroom upstairs. The other two bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs.
